Brighton vs Manchester United
English Premier League
Date: Sunday, 19 August 2018
Kick-off at 16:00 UK/ 17:00 CET
Venue: Amex Stadium (Brighton).
Manchester United coy on an improved performance on matchday 2 after scraping a narrow 2-1 win against Leicester in 2018/19 Premier League’s first match last Friday.
The match at Old Trafford saw chances at either ends, but Leicester created most of the better ones, denied time and time again by the brilliant David De Gea.
The goals came from a Pogba penalty and then late in the game from Luke Shaw. Jamie Vardy scored the consolation goal for the Foxes.
Meantime, it was a bad day at office for Chris Hughton as his team were totally outplayed by Watford at the Vicarage Road. The final score line could have been embarrassing if the Hornets were cynical in front of goal.
Brighton vs Manchester United Head-to-head
Brighton defeated United 1-0 when the teams met at the Falmer Stadium last season, or three months and four days ago.
Meantime, the Red Devils welcomed the Seagulls twice to their home last season, one for FA Cup and once in league, both matches won by Mourinho’s men without conceding a goal.
Brighton vs Manchester United Prediction
United’s display against Leicester City was less than impressive, yet they ended up winning 2-1. There is a stroke of luck in most of the matches at Old Trafford, these days, we call it David De Gea.
Brighton are a different kettle of fish altogether when playing in front of the home crowd. They are a side that lost just 3 of their 19 matches at Amex Stadium last season, is this bad news for Jose Mourinho.
It could be since the Portuguese tactician saw his team beaten 1-0 here at the end of last season. Moreover, picked up a draw and win against Arsenal just before that. Source
