Brighton vs Arsenal
English Premier League
Date: Wednesday, 26 December 2018
Kick-Off at 17:15 UK / 18:15 CET
Venue: The American Express Community Stadium (Falmer).
Arsenal quickly rebounded from a pair of disappointing defeats to Southampton (3-2 in EPL) and Tottenham Hotspur (0-2 in League Cup). They survived Burnley test on Saturday afternoon thanks to inspired performance from team’s top scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gabonese striker opened up the way for a 3-1 win over Clarets with his first-half brace at Emirates. He took his league tally to 12 and will be looking to add to it on Boxing Day when the Gunners travel to Falmer to take on Brighton & Hove Albion on Matchday No 19.
The hosts will come into the game in completely opposite mood. They are looking to prevent the fourth straight defeat in the league here, following successive failures against Burnley, Chelsea and Bournemouth. The loss to Chelsea, however, ended their generally fine home form which has previously seen three wins and one draw.
Each of last three games Brighton played at The AMEX saw goals scored at both ends. Since their recent H2H record against Arsenal also suggests we should be in for a goal fest on Wednesday, we do find the BTTS option quite interesting at the 1.70 odds.
The visitors remain favourites following a fine display against Burnley, but they allowed at least a goal in all of eight away fixtures this term. The Gunners allowed two or more goals in three of past four away games in the league.
