Burnley vs Liverpool
English Premier League
Date: Wednesday, 5 December 2018
Kick-Off at 19:45 UK / 20:45 CET
Venue: Turf Moor (Burnley).
Liverpool will be cooking to continue the push for defending champions Manchester City at the top of the Premier League standings on Wednesday when they travel to Turf Moor to take on the struggling Burnley side. The visitors head into the match as heavy favourites following their fine form in recent Premier League affairs.
The Reds are unbeaten in this term of the competition. They won ten and drew three of opening 13 rounds which is a fantastic record if we know that neither Mohamed Salah nor Roberto Firmino are on last season’s level. Jurgen Klopp can be thrilled with massive improvements in his team’s defensive showings. Liv’pool only allowed five goals since the start of the season and Clarets will likely struggle in their build-up play on Wednesday at Turf Moor.
Burnley dropped down to the danger area after claiming only one point from past five league matches. They shipped four or more goals on three occasions in the process and they boast league’s second weakest defensive record after 13 rounds. The most recent of failures came after the international break when Clarets lost the home tie to Newcastle United 1-2.
This will be the music to the ears of Salah & company who have a nice chance to keep the good league form going here. Salah, Firmino and Alexander-Arnold were on the scoreline in a 0-3 victory over Watford last weekend. The Reds lost the mid-week Champions League tie to PSG (2-1 at Parc Des Princes) and a demolishing victory at Turf Moor could boost up their confidence ahead of the upcoming challenges in the festive period.
