Tottenham vs Bournemouth
English Premier League
Date: Wednesday, 26 December 2018
Kick-Off at 15:00 UK / 16:00 CET
Venue: Wembley Stadium (London).
Spurs made it four straight league wins in some style on Sunday evening when they demolished Everton 2-6 in a goal fest at Goodison. Son Heung-Min and Harry Kane notched a brace apiece, while Christian Eriksen and Dele Ali were also among goal-scorers.
Spurs thus took advantage of Man City’s slip-up to close the gap behind the defending champions in second place down to two points. They at the same time escaped to a five-point gap to Chelsea who shockingly fell to Leicester City at Stamford Bridge.
The Spurs will have a nice chance to keep the splendid form going on Wednesday afternoon when they play ghost to Bournemouth. The visitors did end their three-loss thread with a 2-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion at the weekend,
but they will come into this as heavy underdogs. It was right-winger David Brooks who stole the show with a brace against the Seagulls. Key midfielder Ryan Fraser only came on as a sub and is expected to return to the starting line-up here.
Bournemouth were generally struggling for goals lately as they failed to find the back if the net in three consecutive games in all competitions before the mentioned win over the Seagulls. They also failed to score in last two away matches against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Chelsea. Given they have never scored a goal in an away fixture against Tottenham, the value might be decent with Spurs to keep a clean sheet at the odds of 2.20 here.
Tottenham only allowed six goals in seven home fixtures this term. They are massive favourites to keep the four-win thread going on Boxing Day and we expect the hosts to dominate the pitch from the first whistle.
