Arsenal vs Chelsea
English Premier League
Date: Saturday, 19 January 2019
Kick-Off at 17:30 UK / 18:30 CET
Venue: Emirates Stadium (London).
Arsenal and Chelsea will lock horns in a mouth-watering derby between North and West London to close the Premier League schedule for Saturday.
Apart from bragging rights in the capital, a top-four finish and a place in the Champions League next season will be at stake given these two likes sit just on the brink of it at the moment.
The Blues are in the driving seat after last weekend when they ran away to a six-point cushion above 5th-placed Arsenal who are now level on points with Manchester United.
A win here for Chelsea would likely get the Gunners out of the contest which is why we really expect a strong effort and a huge fight from the hosts at Emirates.
Chelsea returned to winning ways after failing to find the back of the net in past two Premier League games at Stamford Bridge (0-1 loss to Leicester and 0-0 draw to Southampton).
Nevertheless, they still had to dig hard to secure a three-pointer against struggling Newcastle United seven days ago.
Sarri left Alvaro Morata out of the squad and Olivier Giroud on the bench playing Eden Hazard as a false striker. The Belgian was only a serious threat in the second half when his strong run led to Willian’s superb finish for the match-winner against the Magpies (2-1).
Arsenal, on the other side, failed to find the net only for the second time in the season last weekend when they fell 1-0 to West Ham in another London derby.
The Gunners thus won just one of past four league matches and they actually kept only one clean sheet in the entire season (it came in a narrow 1-0 win against the league’s weakest team Huddersfield Town).
