Chelsea vs Sheffield Wednesday
England – FA Cup
Date: Sunday, 27 January 2019
Kick-Off at 18:00 UK/ 19:00 UK
Venue: Stamford Bridge (London).
Chelsea and Sheffield Wednesday are going to close the Sunday’s action in the 4th round of English FA Cup.
The hosts already managed to get involved in the battle for one domestic trophy as they reached the finals in League Cup. They were better than Tottenham Hotspur and celebrated a victory after the penalty shootout.
However, they haven’t been too successful in Premier League lately as Eden Hazard and the lads lost to Arsenal in the latest round.
The Blues are still sitting on the 4th spot, but Arsenal and Manchester United are just three points behind them.
The Blues have been excellent in the back this season as they allowed only 19 goals.
Sheffield Wednesday cannot be content of their campaign in the Championship as they are sitting in the bottom half of the table.
They are too far from challenging the promotion playoffs, but still they are pretty safe from dropping into the danger zone.
The visitors have been in variable form lately as they snatched eight points from the last five rounds.
Although Steve Agnew’s side is doing well in the front, their poor defending prevented them of winning more points.
Wednesday’s away displays haven’t been good largely as they’ve picked up only four points from the last five outings.
These two sides had the chance to face each other five times and Chelsea managed to celebrate twice, while the Owls booked only one victory over their opponents.
In just one occasion, the crowd was able to enjoy goals in both nets. Their encounters have been pretty tight so far and their clash went over 2.5 margin just once.
