Manchester United vs Brighton
English Premier League
Date: Saturday, 19 December 2018
Kick-Off at 15:00 UK / 16:00 CET
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer passed his first serious test on Manchester United bench as the Red Devils took Tottenham Hotspur beating them 0-1 away at Wembley on the previous Matchday.
Marcus Rashford’s fine strike made the difference in an eventful tie in London. David De Gea popped up as United’s saviour once again as he was just brilliant denying Spurs’ stars on multiple occasions during the affair.
Manchester United thus continued to be impeccable under Solskjaer who guided the team to six consecutive wins. Such a significant rise in form saw Man Utd move lock on points with 5th-placed Arsenal.
The top-four is now just six points away and the Champions League football does not seem as an illusion anymore in spite of a dreadful kick off to the campaign under Jose Mourinho.
United will have a nice opportunity to keep their stellar form going on Saturday when Brighton & Hove Albion come to visit Old Trafford in the 23rd round of the competition.
The visitors ended their four-game unbeaten run in all competitions with a narrow 0-1 defeat to Liverpool last weekend. They previously drew 2-2 to West Ham United away at London Stadium.
Brighton generally play much better in front of the home fans. They only scored nine goals for a record of 2 wins, 2 draws and 7 defeats in 11 away matches this season.
Since the Red Devils kept three consecutive clean sheets in all competitions, we believe David De Gea has what it takes to keep his net untouched here against the Seagulls as well.
