Everton vs Liverpool
England – Premier League
Sunday, 3 March 2019
Kick-off at 16.15 UK/ 17.15 CET
Venue: Goodison Park (Liverpool).
Liverpool has no option but to win their remaining ten games in the league. In one sense they might still be relaxed since their title ambition still hinges on their matches alone. They don’t have to depend on the results of other teams, especially Manchester City. But the luxury is not guaranteed if the Reds fail to rise to the occasion in the remainder of the season.
The task may be tough though, considering the team has to deal with the Merseyside Derby. Everton may not be that much of an obstacle for the rest of the squads in the league. But never Liverpool. It’s pride and honor at stake. Either would give up winning 10-0 to any other side for a 1-0 win in the derby.A tough, entertaining 90 minutes is in order for us fans, this Saturday.
- The last nine wins in a row belong to Liverpool.
- 23 of the last 27 wins went along with the Reds.
- Liverpool kept a clean sheet in the last two meetings.
- Everton returned just a single goal in their last four home ties.
- Ten of the last thirteen wins at this stadium were recorded by the guests.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are desperate for the league title, and right now a shore is in sights. Ten more games remain for them starting with this one, and if they could dole out ten wins, it would put an end to the miserable three-decade long wait they have been having.
They are rejuvenated with the 5-0 loss inflicted upon Watford. Their frontline has once more come to the fore, and on back of the best defensive line currently in England, and maybe Europe, they are tipped to take the required three points.
H2h stats suggest nothing but an away win this Saturday. The Reds have recorded the last nine wins in a row, and 23 of the last 27. At this venue, the record reads 10 wins against just three losses for them. Moreover, the last time Everton won against Liverpool was in 2010.
